Psp X3--To Buy Or Not To Buy....

06 July 2010 - 07:39 PM

I got a new computer with Windows 7 on-board. I currently have PSP X2 Ultimate but it isn't working so well on my new computer. I'm wondering if PSP X2 is compatible with Windows 7. Does anyone know? I have written to Corel and am waiting for their advice. In the meantime, I'm hoping someone using PSP X3 can give me some input. I have used PSP 8, XI, XII Ultimate....I digi-scrapbook with it. (I'm not a designer or photographer; it's just my hobby) I have been very frustrated with my PSP program lately; everytime I use it---a fight breaks out! (and the computer wins!) Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Karen

Are All Masks Created Equal?

26 February 2010 - 05:50 PM

I have been playing with the numerous masks I have collected over time and stumbled on a freebie which brings me to this question:

Do masks that are white get treated the same as black ones? I have 4 photo masks that are grungy-looking but are designed in white. Do I have to do anything special to them to make them work? Thanks for your help, Karen

Need Help Installing Masks

23 February 2010 - 12:56 PM

I'm back---still mystified about using masks. I have acquired grunge-frames masks and couldn't get them to work on my photos. It turns out I was using them directly from the organizer. I slid the mask up out of the organizer onto the layout and didn't like what I saw. I couldn't get the grunge look. I now know I need to save the mask in my PSP mask folder. (I'm guessing it's kind of like loading brushes) Can anyone give me directions on how to put my masks into the PSP mask folder? Maybe you know of a tutorial somewhere? I've looked around and even consulted my PSP books but no one mentions how to install the masks into the PSP program; just how to use them. I'd appreciate any help. I'm NOT giving up :hit-head-with-hammer: ---thanks, Karen

Using Masks With Psp

02 February 2010 - 10:06 PM

I've come to the experts to find out how to use masks. I have picked up freebie masks around the internet but they always come with photoshop tuts/directions. I know PSP doesn't use 'clipping masks'---a term I stumble on often. What do PSP users do when it comes to using a mask? Does anyone know of a PSP tut that will explain the steps for me? I have masks to use on photos---I just can't figure out how to use them. I've read the tuts here at SG--but they do not apply. `Can someone help, please? Karen

Pesky "thumbs" Icon Showing Up

05 November 2009 - 12:48 PM

Help! I am trying to clean up my files and dumping 'stuff' I don't need any more on my hard drive. However, a very strange thing is not allowing me to delete one particular file. I have a file of PSP elements made by me and at the end of the collection I see an icon (a white box with a green and a yellow gear on top of a piece of paper)named THUMBS with the following info:
Type: Date Base File
Date: modified 11/4/09 12:38 pm
Size: 114 KB

I don't know why it's there but because it is, I cannot delete the file. Can I delete this icon? I don't know what to do. I'm afraid I'll mess up my computer. Any advice? Thanks, Karen
