Sounds like it might be a good recipe, but if the value contrast between the text and the background could be a bit higher...maybe it's my monitor, but I'm having an awful time reading the text!

This is great. The smudge tool was a good solution.

Please do keep it a mix of English and Japanese -- that way, years down the road, your friends and loved ones will be able to read them, whether they're in Japan or an English-speaking country.
