Topics I've Started

My Head Is Swimming

03 September 2007 - 08:17 PM

I spent the weekend going between the tutorials in Secrets Revealed, and my scrap pages on PSE 5. I have learned a lot, and wish the weekend wasn't over so fast. I want to keep playing... I haven't made it through half of the tutorials yet, but I have been putting scrapbook pages together as I go - nothing worth sharing yet.

Anyway, I have a file that I downloaded from the newsletter for a curled edge. I think I remember downloading instructions for how to use these templates, but I can't find it. I want to use the curled edge on a photo, but can't figure out how to make it work. Perhaps I need to just take the evening off and give my brain a rest, but this is so addictive! Any advice would be helpful!

Also, if anyone is willing to share a better way to organize all these files I have downloaded, I'd be so happy!!

Thanks,
Onestitch

Greenhorn Needs Help!

First of all, my name is Sheri, and I live in Bear River, Utah.

I am a wife to James, and a mother to Meghan, Briana, Shanna, and Jenna.

I have not scrapped in almost 4 years because life has been insane, and have just discovered digital scrapbooking.

This is thrilling to me because I can now play "catch-up" without having to drag everything out, only to have to clean it all back up again before starting classes that I teach in my sewing studio.

The problem, is that I have no clue where to start. I have downloaded the free book from this site, but still need help.

I have Paint Shop Pro Studio (Dell version), and have been contemplating the upgrade to Paint Shop Pro Photo XI. After reading through the site, I am now even more confused. Could someone please tell me what the best option would be if I have to choose between Photo Shop Elements 5, and the Paint Shop Pro Photo XI. (I can't even begin to touch Photo Shop) I can only afford one software for now, and want to purchase the best one for scrapbooking. I know many of you perhaps use either, or even both programs.

Please give me your thoughts and opinions so that I can get started. I'm afraid to move at this point.

Your help and suggestions would be so very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Sheri
