Heatheranne has give you good advice. Just make sure that you have selected the portion of the template you want to change the color of, either by using a background paper, or the paint bucket. I usually do these selections with the magic wand.

HTH! And welcome to Scrap Girls. If you are still having problems with this, let us know!

Hooray for you Carla! There are quite a few of us here at SG that have that camera, or the one that came shortly after, so I'm sure you'll be able to get any questions you might have answered! (Probably not by me - I'm still in the "asking" mode!) It will be fun to learn together!

There are several in my area - Washington D.C.- but on the, what is it, 24th of July, it will be just too hot for me to get out - not only the heat, but the air quality is horrible at the end of July here. Wish they would have one in the fall!

Good luck to all of you who are going to join in. I sure did enjoy looking at the photos from last year!

Carla, definitely get the 55-250 that comes bundled. You'll get a good price and it is a nice addition to the 18-55 kit lens. I have both and enjoying using them. You'll also want to get the 50mm prime lens called the "nifty-fifty". You can get quite a deal on the 1.8 (around $100 everywhere), and then there is the 1.4 which is quite a bit more expensive - just under $400, I think. This is a great lens for low light and portrait photography, does a great job with DOF.

I also have the camera you are looking at. You won't regret this decision!
