Well, this is the wordiest layout I have ever done :)/>/> Most of the wording comes from the book Now Discover your Strengths. It explains that discovering and nurturing your talents is much more rewarding and fulfilling than applying focus on strengthening weaknesses. Of course, there's more to it than what I have mentioned and if interested I encourage you to get the book and discover your own unique strengths combination. I have briefly synopsized my 5 top Strengths... About the barbie: While at the park one day a truck in the parking lot had this barbie/eagle combination tied to its front bumper. I thought it was cool that each time they drove Barbie was on her eagle flying through the streets. I photographed it and figured one day I would use it on a page. This one seemed appropriate - though I realize we shouldn't really use photos - this one is more a characterization than portrait. She embodies my super strengths!

Wording reads:

Now, Discover your Strengths, my unique talents and strengths based on the Gallup study of over two million people. Each persons’s talents are enduring and unique. Each person’s greatest room for growth is in the areas of his or her greatest strengths. Talents are your naturally recurring patterns of thought, feeling, or behavior.

Self Assurance: Having confidence in your abilities and judgement. When you look at the world you know that your perspective is unique and distinct. You know that you are able to take risks, meet new challenges, stake claims and most importantly, able to deliver.

Ideation: You are fascinated by ideas. Yours is the kind of mind always looking for connections. You revel in taking the world we all know and turning it around so we can view it from a strange but strangely enlightening angle. You are delighted when you discover beneath the complex surface an elegantly simple concept to explain why things are the way they are.

Strategic: You are able to sort through the clutter and find the best route. It is a distinct way of thinking, a special perspective on the world at large. This perspective lets you see patterns where others simply see complexity. Mindful of these patterns, you play out alternate scenarios, always asking, “What if this happened, then this...?”

Learner: You love to learn. You are energized by the steady and deliberate journey from ignorance to competence. Whatever the subject, you will always be drawn to the process of learning.

Individualization: You are intrigued by the unique qualities of each person. You are impatient with generalizations or types because you don’t want to obscure what is special and distinct about each person. Instead you focus on the differences between individuals.

Barbie is a great symbol even if she was on the front of a truck (truly working woman)anyway, I enjoyed your thoughts from what you picked up in the book.

WOW, Cheryll Ann - this is amazing and I have spent a lot of time visiting ALL over your amazing page. I love the use of the Barbie - it's perfect and she looks the symbol of the adventurous woman! I really like your gogrgeously warm and blended background - it feels so even and stable. And I like how you blended your words around the page - it's awesome and what a wonderful thought, to build on our strengths and not dwell on our weaknesses. (I like that!). I also really like how Barbie is flying out with so much strength, yet balance into and from a light - wow, I am in awe of what you have done here. Marvelously creative layout all about Super YOU! Thanks for adding your beautifully creative work of art to the Art Journal Gallery! :)

I love the eagle flying Barbie but even more I love the background paper... it is blended so magically it looks like a fairy realm... I love the dreamy feel, it has such a unique quality, which matches your words perfectly... your choice to use these 5 unique qualities was inspired, it gives such a great view into your core... wonderfully deep page, tfs.

You designed a wonderfully ethereal background by your use of blending and color and pattern. Marvelous! Fascinating journaling, too. Thanks for writing it out for us.
