Ok, so I know this page LOOKS all arty and painty and complicated, but really it's not - REALLY! I started with one of Emily's Mixed Up background papers (which already has the paint all over it - yay!). Then I added one of Syndee's art dolls and clipped a different one of Emily's papers to it (so now I have an arty/painty doll and I STILL haven't had to be arty myself!). Next I added my title and the journaling round my art doll. Only then did I take a step back from the page and asked myself if I thought it was complete. Personally I felt that the background needed just a little bit more 'paint' on it. So Emily to the rescue again with her Mixed Up brushes! I picked a couple I liked, picked some colours already on the background and randomly 'stamped' a couple of brushed on the background, where I felt it needed it. (Tip: if you 'stamp' each of your brushes onto a new layer, then you can move them and resize and recolour them, even once you've stamped them - I do this quite often as I like to find 'just the right place' for my stamp - yes I know I'm OCD!!!!) The very last thing I did was to add the bits of tape - and that was purely me - I wanted to add one final bit of texture and interest - just because I could!

So one arty, painty, mixed media-style AJ page - created by me, the most unpaintsy person in the whole world. If I can do it, so can you - give it a go, it is fun - HONEST!

Anna this is outstanding!!!!! I love how you explained the simple way you made it - it really is achievable and yet it looks a million bucks! Love the sentiment and how wonderfully you expressed the idea both in words and pictures and style... L.O.V.E it!

Oh, Anna - you had FUN! And the result is delightful. I love the text shaped around your silhouette, and all the splashes/brushes of color. Thank you for the clear description of your creative steps. I love your word - "unpaintsy" - but you do paint - digitally!

Anna, this is awesome! You did a fabulous job being artsy and creative and I would suspect you'd be the only one around here who would say you aren't! I giggled and smiled through your whole explanation here and I can feel you had FUN - and that's great! I really like the soft colors you used and the painty feel to your layout. I also really like your sentiments and journaling - so true! Thanks for showing us how you did this and sharing a part of yourself in the Art Journaling Gallery.

This is so great, love the journaling around the figure. The "tools" you used made an outstanding page. Thanks for sharing your process. Wonderful, and very CREATIVE page.

I love that you write the steps you used. It really is easier than one thinks. I love this page, and you did it so well with the extra touch.
