Project Life, week 52, 2017

Oh my goodness what a crazy week! Scott, Joelle, and Preston (3) arrived on Saturday (the 23rd) and it was so wonderful to see them! It’s been a year, and they had never been to visit us since we moved to Tennessee. We went to dinner at La Tavola on Saturday, and on Sunday night while Dave and I were at church they cooked dinner for us!

Sunday morning after church, we went to Chili’s for lunch. Apparently getting Preston to eat his mac and cheese is a family affair. Christmas Day was a blast! We had cars and trucks everywhere. Preston serenaded us with our new favorite song: “Jingy Bells”!

On Tuesday we went in to Nashville to the Adventure Science Center. It was tons of fun and lots of hands-on activities that even the adults could enjoy. We went to lunch at the Aquarium restaurant

in Opry Mills Mall. We were surrounded by fish tanks and our meal was super! They had to leave for Miami on Wednesday, and for dinner I tried out my new Instant Pot pressure cooker. It was SO good, and so easy! Dave drove me by the Stones River Battlefield cemetery to see the Christmas Wreaths on all of the soldiers’ graves.

We had two days off before Steven, Jessica, Athena, and Zander arrived for New Years’ weekend. What chaos! Athena talks every hour that she is awake, and when she isn’t taking she’s whistling. We love going to Logan’s Roadhouse, the kids can eat peanuts and toss the shells on the floor. I’m glad I don’t have to clean it up!

Sunday we said goodbye to Tim Hayden, our music director. We presented him with a cowbell to which we had added a plaque. Dave, Amy Brown, Page Durham, and I made the presentation on behalf of the choir. I was so tired I never made it to midnight, I was in bed before 11:30. Happy New Year 2018!
