The month started with a two day drive back home after visiting family for Thanksgiving. The drive was easy with no much traffic. We got home to cold and wet. And the arbor we had built during the summer was laying on the ground. It had pushed downslope and collapsed. What a bummer. Mike got to work tearing it apart and stacking the lumber. It broke a rose bush and flattened a fushia. Both will come back. The new trees were planted. The one replacing the lost snowbell is a Seven Son Flower. Small with fragrant lavendar flowers in the Spring. Hummers will love it. The other tree is also a small tree, a crepe myrtle. Just before Christmas the tree pruning was finally accomplished! Only waited 10 months!!! Did not get to Dianne's, will be later after Christmas. I made shortbread cookies in the air fryer for the first time. Very good. I got busy and made Christmas cards. This year I made individual cards for most everyone. Made a total of about 25, some just had name change. Had a hawk visit again. Lots of hummer activity too. Noticed a plant that is quite large growing in a place where there is nothing large planted. Hopefully come Spring it will bloom. We had a quiet Christmas dinner this year, just Janine. The weather was bad and Steve didn't want to chance coming down. Dianne had her grandchildren to dinner a week before and three were unvacinated. Didn't want to take the chance of getting Covid so she wasn't welcome this year. The day after Christmas it started snowing. Snowed on and off the next four days. We got a total of 6-7 inches. And it was COLD. Temps were in the low 20s with highs of low 30s. Started to moderate just before New Year's Eve. Mike hurt his leg from all the heavy lifting cleaning up the arbor. He has been going to PT. Fortunately his 29th appointment was okay, Temperates were up and everything was melting. Heard that Lois is very ill and in the hospital. Life threatening low sodium. Got a little more snow, very little, unfortunately we are going to transition with some freezing rain. Didn't last long and nothing really iced up. Last day of December ended with half inch of morning snow.

Wow, indeed - it sounds like a very full December and your journaling is awesome.  I like your photos and the soft background you chose, it's a pretty page.

I love reading your journaling. I wish I could journal like that. It's like you are sitting there talking to us. Great photo and template.

Sorry to hear about your arbor. You have such talent for horticulture. I love the colors in the page. Great job keeping up this year!

@BelleBelle, that's exactly what I do. I pretend I'm talking to someone or writing a letter to my mother or some other family member. Or like I'm talking to myself! That works too. You can do it too.
