River of Life

There is an entire very interesting story about how this art glass was stolen from a cemetery and the cemetery superintendent doggedly searched for it. Decades later it was recovered in an FBI sting operation when someone attempted to sell it to a museum that remembered the letters the cemetery superintendent had sent out nationwide. River of Life is now housed in an art museum near the cemetery.

What an interesting story and gorgeous, gorgeous piece!   Good for that superintendent, that's awesome and that someone remembered the letters, too.    SO glad it is now available for all to see.   You background and the way you created it with stained glass photos is stunning as is the "River of Life" piece and your matting, it's all so beautiful!   Your cluster is really lovely, this is a spectacular page.

Thanks, Marilyn. Those papers are really, truly stunning and so original and dimensional. Adding in the photo fade made it seem like sun flowing through a window and allowed the diamond panes to "pop." I am so pleased you understood the papers were intended to look like a stained glass window.
