Oh my gosh, this is absolutely wonderful!    What a great idea for a "month old" layout, I know I'm going to have to scraplift this for my little Julianne.   The baby is adorable and I like how you "hung" the pics.   I really like the creativity in putting all the stats in the numbers-genius!   And it looks great!

PS I don't see a template listed so you created the number yourself?   How did you fit the words in, any tips?    This is really so amazing - quite a feat!

I have basically created my own template. I used this layout for my nephew’s baby book and adapted it. Since I scrap in My Memories software, an exact template will not work for Photoshop users. Wouldn’t it be nice if one of our designers could create numbers like these in PSD for you?

However, maybe the technique can be adapted. Start by layering in a thick, bold font in a very large size that can serve as the outline for your number. I used Rockwell Extra Bold as the outline. This layer can be placed at 0% opacity or hidden later. Then insert text boxes with the letters extending all the way to the frame edge. In MM I use the Word Art tool. Vary the style and weight of the fonts and the height and width of the text boxes. To make the text look even, I used a command called “align even vertically,” which standardizes the minuscule dead space between the text boxes.

To edit this new layout, all I had to do was click on a text box and type in the new text. Word Art automatically expands the new text to the inside edges of the text box. I am not familiar enough with Photoshop to know exactly if there is a similar type or text tool. If anyone knows, please jump in! I hope this helps, Marilyn.

This is such a clever and fabulous idea! Thanks so much for the explanation of how you created the magic. What a wonderful page for a baby book! Plus those photos are too cute for words. :)

This is fun! I love love love how you used the title words/journal to create the 7. So fun. And the stitching is awesome and matches the frame.

Wow! This is impressive! Thank you Celestine for the instructions - the concept should be adaptable to PS. Your page is bright and cheerful, and the handing twine frames is inspired. Everything about this page is incredibly well done.

Thank you SO very much for taking the time to explain how you did this and I can see it working in PSE, which is my program.   I actually have collage numbers Syndee made (I think retired now) and could use the base for each number.  There are some PSE text tool variations that I can see using to fit the words in.

I still can't get over how creative and clever this is and so darn cute - apart from the little one.

Thanks so much, very much appreciated!

What an awesome way to do a '7'. I love it. Cute photos and word art. The stitch border is lovely and I really like the paper. Beautiful layout.
