In August we had two full moons with one of them being a Super Blue moon. The Sturgeon Moon occurred on August 1. We went down to the OC Lagoon and waited for the moon to come up. We were in sorta of a low spot with the moon going to be rising over a ridge. It wasn't very good picture taking as we could not get the moon until it was quite a ways above the horizon and did not look very large and some trees were in the way. We spent a couple of hours there waiting for the moon to rise and then took a lot of pictures. Did get a few interesting shots. a low spot with the moon going to be rising over a ridge. On August 30 there a Super Blue Moon. The term Blue Moon is most commonly used when we have two Full Moons in a single month. A Super Moon happens when a Full Moon happens at or near its closet point to Earth in it' orbit. A Super Blue Moon happens roughly every 10-20 years. The next one will be in 14 years in 2037.
We set out to see if we could get some pictures. We went up the hill from where we live to a park. It was better than being in a hole, but there were houses and large trees surrounding the park. There were also clouds in the night sky. Still I was pleased with the pictures we got.
