Project-Life-week-35
MFish_leafPeepers, AFT_Gratitude. Mostly my photos. Journaling--We arrived at Hanging Rock State Park but getting into our site was a little tough as it was a sharp turn to back into but Jay nailed it!! Mostly tents or pop ups. It was very quiet and very dark at night. We did some relaxing then took the hike to see the hanging rock. It was all up hill on a road that was washed out so hard to walk plus it was very hot. My knees were screaming then there were stairs. We saw deer at our site every morning & evening. Then we went to Maggie Valley to meet up with Emily and Gary. First night G,E and I went to Blue Ridge Parkway to photograph the sunset...very cloudy. We took a ride the next day to Caldwell Place it was a windy, narrow dirt road up a mountain then down into a cool valley. We spotted about 10 elk crossing the road, it was so amazing. The house and grounds were inteesting. We went to the motorcycle museum...lucky for me there were a few cars to look at. We stopped at the Mountain Museum which was a local collection of vintage items. We went to Bear Waters Brewery for lunch and a craft beer, it was fun. We went to the Cherokee Museum. It was a nice museum of native artifacts with a self guided tour so we were able to take our time. We went to Mingo falls for another photo shoot there are 160 stairs but so worth seeing the 120 ft waterfall. We went up to see the sunset again but it was too cloudy. We want to photograph the blue moon but no luck. Next day Gary took us to a small lake to try to spot an eagle but not there. We went back to campground to join them for the wednesday free hamburg night. We went to Joey’s Pancake House for breakfast. We hung around the campsites to prep to leave the next morning. We had another enjoyable time with them.
