No, Polar Bears are now protected. My grandpa was on a hunt one of the last years non-natives could hunt polar bears. Soon after this they were on the protected list.

Wow, Tracey those are amazing photos from so long ago, even before Alaska was a state, so cool!   I'm laughing looking at their clothing, I would have 20 layers on and the one guy has a zippered sweatshirt it looks like!   I like your title and background, but those photos really steal the show.   I'm so glad you found them!  

What treasures these photos are! Wow! I'm so glad you found them and shared them with us. It's so interesting to see a real polar bear rug, too. I think they'd have to be made of acrylic or something now.  I love your icy white background and the snowflakes and alpha, but I agree with Marilyn, above: the photos steal the show.
