What Christmas Means to Me: I think that Christmas is not just a holiday. It’s a feeling. It’s inspiration to be good to other people. It’s a reminder to count your blessings. It’s an opportunity to do something for someone you may not normally think about. It’s the best time of the year! I couldn’t wait to put up the tree this year. It’s a new place, and I had a new angel, and I was ready for that feeling of Christmas. The week started off pretty “froggy” as I love to say. Our little duplex does not have a lot of storage. On Sunday, 11/5, we got a small cabinet for the bathroom from Menards. Chad put it together for me. It made a big difference! After grocery shopping, I made a batch of hot cocoa mix for Chad. He liked it. No more store- bought mix! I checked my garden out back. There is a lot of leaves on the top, but no beets or carrots under the soil. I was very sad. I will have to do some soil work this spring, it seems. On Saturday, November 11th, my cousin Emma played her last high school volleyball game. She is a Senior at Mater Dei. This game was the state finals, and the won! The team ended the season with 33 wins and 6 losses. Emma had 7 kills this this last game. She was this game’s MVP. We are so proud of her. We followed her volleyball career through Facebook. My Aunt Kristi posted a lot of updates and photos. We did not attend the game, so I got photos of it from her and other’s who posted on Facebook. after the game, the team was escorted all around Clinton County by each town’s Fire Department with blazing lights and loud sirens. I love these parades! Kristi and Marty and Logan and Kyler was in the parade too. They drove by our house and we stood outside to watch the parade. I am so happy she had this experience. It reminded me of my experience in high school when I was a junior. We had won the All State Pep Band competition which means we get to go to the state volleyball championship to play for the teams. By fate, our school had made it to the state championship too! We got to play for our own team as they won. It was such a great experience!
