Wishing my ScrapGirl family a very merry Christmas. We are spending the day with my sister & her family then we are hosting Boxing Day for David’s brother’s family.

My new laptop is ready for pickup. Hopefully my version of PSE will work because it is the same operating system. I also got them to back up my files onto a new EHD. Getting excited now.

I have just discovered my zip files for all my purchases from 2007 to 2019 on the desktop computer that David uses. Happy days!

After 10 years & 4 months I have had my final oncology appointment. No more pills for that & cleared by the doctor. Saying goodbye to the Big C. I hope we never meet again.

I have been MIA for a while. We were away in the caravan for 6 weeks catching up with all the family in the west. It was great to all (17) be together again after Covid has kept us apart for over 3 years. Also I have been pretty bummed at losing my EHD contents. Thanks to our wonderful Angie for sending me download links to my purchases. I have to now unzip & organise nearly 200 purchases. I had a lot of photos that I had saved to CDs & made photo books of all our travels but there are some that are lost for good. Soon I should be able to get back to scrapping.

We have been home from our trip for 2 weeks now. I had been experiencing shortness of breath since day one of our walking tours & it hadn’t gotten any better so decided to go to the GP. She sent me for a CT scan - pulmonary angiogram & they found I had bilateral blood clots in the lungs so straight to ED & spent the night in hospital. Luckily they had not impacted my heart but I am now on blood thinners for the next 6 months. Just have to rest & take it easy.

We returned home on Tuesday from our tour of Spain, Portugal & Rhine river cruise from Basel to Amsterdam. We had a great time but are totally exhausted. David had some heart issues while we were away & has been having some blood tests, ECGs & Doppler studies the last couple of days. It is similar to what happened 3 years ago. Hopefully increasing his medications again will help the problem.

Tomorrow we will be boarding our flight to begin our journey through Spain & Portugal before flying to Zurich then doing a River Cruise from Basil to Amsterdam. This trip was supposed to be in 2020 but postponed due to Covid.

Have a blessed & safe Easter everyone.?

We have Covid in the household. Two of Iain’s housemates started the ball rolling then I tested positive yesterday & Iain today. David is the only one still negative. At least we are all vaccinated & it is pretty much like a head cold.

We have been getting quite a lot of rain. They are calling it a rain bomb. There is a lot of severe flooding in some parts of south-east Queensland. We are quite safe here but have had over 400ml (about 16inches) since Thursday. Our major dam was at 58% on Thursday and is now at 160%. All the dams are at capacity after having been on water restrictions all summer. Hopefully it will ease up by tomorrow.

Today we said goodbye to our son’s faithful companion of 12 years as he crossed over the rainbow bridge. It was a sad moment as we had to take Kaos to the vet as he had been unwell for several weeks and was unable to eat. He had lost about 15kg so his time had come. To use Iain’s words - “He was a good boy.”

Happy New Year everyone. Here’s hoping we all have a great 2022 & Covid is left in 2021. ???

Happy Thanksgiving ladies.

Hi all. I had a full hip replacement last Thursday. Now for the rehabilitation exercises to get mobile again. I have some minor pain but nothing like I had before.

Happy Easter everyone. We are in for a very wet one.

Yesterday we said our final goodbyes to our beloved son, taken too soon. We had a lovely service attended by family & friends as well as a live stream for those who were unable to attend due to COVID-19 restrictions. Our daughter, my brother & their families watched on from Western Australia. Further investigations are being carried out as to the cause. We may not have answers for a few months if we ever do.

I am still in the land of the living. Getting very frustrated as the completion of our Granny Flat as stalled. The builder has taken exception to a few criticisms we had & wanted repaired to our satisfaction. It has been extremely hot here of late. The last couple of days it has in 100Fs. Terrible bushfires are raging in Queensland & New South Wales with no weather relief in sight. Normally we have summer thunderstorms but no rain at all. Hope it eases up soon. Our daughter & grandsons are coming over for Christmas so it will be good to see them again.

Wow its your home and your paying it should be finished to your satisfaction, hope all gets sorted soon. Those bushfires are dreadful and so glad your safe. I think NZ has had all your rain (well the South Island at least) as so much flooding. The world weather has gone bonkers. Enjoy your family Christmas

We have arrived home after our 6 week trip. Very tired but thoroughly enjoyed it despite the miserable rainy, cold weather. We arrived home to beautiful sunny weather yesterday but today it is overcast & showery. Now to get over the jet lag. Progress on the Granny Flat slowed & it is not yet near completion.

Sitting in Heathrow Airport waiting for our flight to Split Croatia where we join up with our tour group in 2 days. It has been a long haul so far having an 8 hour flight to Hong Kong, a 5 hour stop over before a 12 flight to London. We stayed here last night before heading off again today.

Got my new glasses but lost my mojo. Too much happening here at the moment. We leave in just over 3 weeks for 7 weeks in Europe & UK plus we are getting a Granny flat built on our sons property. We were hoping it would be almost done before we left as the build was due to commence on Aug 2. BUT the council took so long for the approvals building is not starting till next Tuesday. So it will be getting done while we are away and our son will have to be in charge. Hope it is to our specifications when we get back. Plus we have to transfer funds to his account so he can make the periodic payments as each section is completed.

Went to get fitted for my new glasses yesterday so hopefully I will soon be back scrapping up a storm. They will take about 2 weeks.

Sorry I have been MIA for a while. Our son who had Influenza A was in hospital for 4 weeks. He is recovering at home. Then on Tuesday this week David was taken by the paramedics to hospital from the doctor’s surgery with a suspected heart attack. Turns out he has/had influenza A which has left him with viral cardiomyopathy. He came home yesterday with a whole new eating regime to get our heads around and lots of medication whereas before he wasn’t taking any. Then on Friday I had my second cataract surgery after it was postponed 3 weeks ago because my lens had not arrived at the hospital. But all good now & we can move forward.

Winter has hit sunny Queensland. Temperatures are down to single figures & some areas are below 0C. We even have snow about 4 hours away from where we live. Definitely don’t like winter.
