We celebrated Christmas with the Blumenstein family as usual this year. And as tradition goes, we gather in the kitchen and many just sit on the floor so we can all be together and visit. Mom joined us later because she was at the hospital with her mom. Julie gave me a gift this year for helping her. She gave me key chain, a candle, and a necklace that says “nurse”. She is so sweet. Journaling: The last, most consistent Christmas for me was 2009. Since that time I have moved almost annually, been too close to homelessness, and bravely faced my new reality of this dang disorder. Once upon a time I looked forward to decking the halls but now that’s all in storage as I settle into the new, relaxed normal. That includes a minimal of decorations, no baking or cooking, and being able to just enjoy each moment. Gone are the days when I made a big “To Do” over the holidays, but I still very much look forward to them and the general feeling of love, happiness, and cheer the whole world seems to adopt at this time!
