Installing Styles

Hello Ladies

It's been a while since I've posted, and I can see from reading posts about PSE11 and PSE13 that my old PSE6 is really outdated. But I've got no complaints about that, and am not looking to upgrade at this time.

I bought a Style today (AFT_SSStyles_EDG) that I copied into the same location as all my other Styles. For the life of me, I cannot see it in Photoshop no matter how hard I try. I have re-booted with crossed fingers to no avail.

My typical routine after downloading a purchase is to first put it into a Scrapgirls folder, then copy the style into the Photoshop6E/Presets/Styles on my hard drive.

What could I possibly be doing wrong? Any thoughts are most appreciated!

Sandy

Hi Sandy,

In addition to the information in the thread that Anne-Marie provided the link to, there are specific instructions in the newest edition of the free eBook here:

ScrapSimple Instructions Handbook (Free eBook).

The instructions for installing styles in PSE 6-10 are on pages 63-64. Let us know if you need more help.

Hello Everyone - Thank you so much for your replies, and I apologize for the delay. Tonight I spent some time reading your responses, and I have to say, that is exactly what I have done. Unzipped the file, copied the ASL files into the styles file folder, etc.

The one thing that I cannot do (and I have never had to do in the past) is to delete the MediaDatabase - I simply cannot find that, nor do I think I have it, and I know I have never touched that before. I search my computer, and it is not found.

I have rebooted, and I even renamed the ASL file to see if it would show up more readily. Since they (the styles) all list alphabetically, it should be obvious.

What else could I possibly be doing wrong? All my other styles that are in the same folder are showing up in PhotoShop Elements...

Thank you again,

Sandy
