April Prompt Party :having-a-party:

Join us on the forum in April where we will give you some prompts to help you create some amazing layouts, and have some fun as well.

Throughout the month we will give you a prompt for you to use to create your layout. Each prompt will have different questions/requirements, so make sure you check carefully.

Each layout you complete is worth one entry in the prize draw. At the end of the month we will do a random draw and you could win one of three $5.00 Gift Certificates to use in the Scrap girls Boutique.

·         You may interpret each prompt in any way you wish.

·         You do not have to complete every layout, unless you want to.

·         Once we have given you the prompt and any requirements, you can start and post as soon as you finish your layout.

·         There will be no surprise additions to your layouts.

·         You may combine prompts; however you will only receive one entry in the prize draw per layout.

When you are finished, post your layouts in the Hodge Podge Gallery. Here is the link for the April 2022 Challenge Chase.

April 1, 2022

Today is April Fool’s Day.  Some historians speculate that April Fools’ Day dates back to 1582, when France switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar, as called for by the Council of Trent in 1563. In the Julian Calendar, as in the Hindu calendar, the new year began with the spring equinox around April 1. People who were slow to get the news or failed to recognize that the start of the new year had moved to January 1 and continued to celebrate it during the last week of March through April 1 became the butt of jokes and hoaxes and were called “April fools.” These pranks included having paper fish placed on their backs and being referred to as “poisson d’avril” (April fish), said to symbolize a young, easily caught fish and a gullible person.

Your prompt today is to create a layout with a fish in it somewhere.

When you are finished, post your layouts in the Hodge Podge Gallery. Here is the link for the April 2022 Challenge Chase.

April 2nd:

Today is National Handmade Day. For this prompt, I want you to hand-make something to use on your layout. One way you can do this is to use a Scrap Simple item such as an embellishment. Scrapgirls has a great Template section. Here is the Embellishment Template section.

When you are finished, post your layouts in the Hodge Podge Gallery. Here is the link for the April 2022 Challenge Chase.

1.    April 3rd is National Find a Rainbow Day. This layout prompt is simple- use a rainbow in your layout. It could be an arched rainbow, or just a rainbow of colors.

When you are finished, post your layouts in the Hodge Podge Gallery. Here is the link for the April 2022 Challenge Chase.

April 4th

Did you know Vitamin C (aka L-ascorbic acid) is great for wound healing, and an antioxidant that may help prevent certain cancers, heart disease, and other diseases in which oxidative stress plays a causal role. To celebrate National Vitamin C Day on April 4th, grab a glass of orange juice and your prompt is to scrap something using orange somewhere in your layout.

When you are finished, post your layouts in the Hodge Podge Gallery. Here is the link for the April 2022 Challenge Chase.

April 5th

Today is National Read a Road Map Day. I don’t know about you, but I can’t read a map very well. I am so grateful for GPS (and sometimes still get lost lol).  Your prompt today is to scrap a page with a road map on it.

When you are finished, post your layouts in the Hodge Podge Gallery. Here is the link for the April 2022 Challenge Chase.

April 6

Today is National Tartan Day. National Tartan Day is a celebration of Scottish heritage which takes place on April 6th each year. This day, also known as Tartan Day, has been celebrated since 1982 in New York and has been celebrated since 1986 in Canada. It has since spread to other areas of the Scottish diaspora. This holiday is usually celebrated with parades that feature bag pipes and Highland dancing. Today, we are going to celebrate it by scrapping a page using plaid.

When you are finished, post your layouts in the Hodge Podge Gallery. Here is the link for the April 2022 Challenge Chase.
