FEBRUARY MONTH OF CHALLENGES

1. Create a layout using the attached color swatch.

2. Split your layout into 2 parts, and create 2 different layouts on one page. Use 2 different collections to create your layout.

3. Create an ATC - Themed LOVE. Create your ATC - card or coin with your interpretation of the theme. Your original ATC file should be 3.5 inches x 2.5 inches or 1050 pixels x 750 pixels (can be portrait or landscape orientation) at 300 pixels per inch. Be sure to sign and date your ATC.

4. Using paintbrushes, ink, stamps etc. create your own background paper.

5. Use black and white photo(s).

When you've finished a layout, post it in the Monthly Challenge Gallery, then come back and leave a link to your layout in this thread.  If you're participating in the  February Challenge Chase , make sure to post a link to your layout there as well.

What exactly is an ATC?

Is it just a greeting card? Can it have a photo on it?

Think of it as a mini scrapbook page, or art journal page. Here is a good read on the history of ATC.
Interesting facts I’m kinda blind right now. And Debbie is going to help me out here. There are ATC cards in the gallery. I’ll try find the link for you.

@alsoarty How did the op go? I could take my eye shields off the next day and could see perfectly. What kind of lens did you get? To get a multifocal lens, I had to pay and extra R8000 per eye. I went for single lenses and I can see perfectly.

I could not get the lenses I wanted, because my Medicare didn’t pay for that. I’ve done one eye, the second one is in about 30 minutes. So I’m blind right now. I poked out the left lens of my glasses, but that did not help. I’ll see what today brings.

I see that Andrea answered your question. As far as the cards go they are a small quick scrap project so use your creativity and have fun.

Belle, ATC's are Artist Trading Cards (A-T-C).    They are tiny works of art and were traditionally paper but sometimes now are traded digitally.  ATC's are traded all over the world.
I have a book about ATC's and there are two rules:
The cards must be 2.5 x 3.5 inches and they MUST be traded free!

So when you start your layout, it should be 2.5 x 3.5.  Sometimes there are themes to ATC swaps, our SG ones had a theme each month like flowers, maybe Zodiac signs or even "Things That Make you Happy".  Once we went through the alphabet in flowers so we each had a complete set of flower letters.   So if you had the letter "B" you'd scrap a tiny 2.5 x 3.5 card of a flower that starts with B.

I think we sometimes used photos, but the thing to remember is ATC"s are little works of art.  So, not your traditional layout where you need a lot of embellishments or journaling or photos of a person, but more little piece of art.  I'm going to see if I can find a better definition.

Here's one with a lot of ads in the middle, but it explains it well.
Artist Trading Cards, the Ultimate Guide

Does that help or is it more confusing?  🤣

Take care Andrea!

I love ATCs!! I will have to think on these as I haven't scrapped in a long while.

I knew you would be all  over this challenge...I think you will make more than 1.

I have to sleep with the shield on for a week. This is my second week, because 2nd eye. I am not sure what to call my lens. They gave me a card, I’ll scan it in for you to see. I think I’ll still need glasses for reading. I can kinda see a lot better now, will have to wait 3 weeks to see my optometrist to what glasses I’ll need.

Ì got my glasses yesterday.  I've been coping quite well without them. I could read and drive perfectly.  The glasses just make a bit clearer.
