Scrap Girls World Tour 2023

Recommended Posts

I made it!!! Second stop, not great for me. You can see I am water logged and tired from my misadventure of being blown back to Seattle. I dont love my layout, but it is okay and meets the guidelines.  this one felt like check the boxes not love the photos. I do love the photos. My daughter got married in 2015 and I used her photos for the gold elements I had. Keeping the amazing rock colors threw me for a loop and I over thought the technical aspects, not the inspirations. Here is my Second Stop

Now that I am back aboard the ship, sitting on my balcony with my feet on the railing, where's the cabana boy?? I need a Gin & Tonic stat! Watching the sun set over the water is the most relaxing way to end the day.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen that guy around much at all - what's with that?    🤣

Wednesday, September 13th
For our last day in Thailand, we’re going to have some extra fun! A few of your options are snorkeling, a sea cave adventure, a visit to the elephant sanctuary or a Thai cooking class. I think I’ll do the snorkeling in the morning and the cooking class in the afternoon because swimming always makes me hungry.

Add a few extra embellishments to your layout.
Post your completed “Thailand” layout in the World Tour Gallery.

Oh what fun and exciting things to do!  I was having a hard time decided, but think I'll do an activity in the morning and one in the afternoon, thanks April!
I've always wanted to snorkel and I'd love to visit the elephant sanctuary too.
Maybe those of you who try the cooking class can bring back a few samples later?  :seating_cooking_chef_100-103::seating_cooking_eggs_100-100::sfun_eating_boy:

I will be attending the cooking class as I hope they teach how to make Pad Thai as it is a favourite of mine.  I hope someone takes some photos of the elephants so I can get copies to share with my neighbour back home as she really likes elephants.

I'll take photos of elephants, Anne Marie if you share photos of cooking!  😊

Anyone want to paddle around a sea cave with me? Definitley would be more fun with company! Then off to see some elephants. Hope theres some left overs from the cooking class - All us elephant admirers will be hungry! I wonder what we can bring back from the elephant sanctuary as a souvenir for all the cooks amongst us? Surely they have some poo paper in the stationery aisle!

@mimes1 Amy I would love to paddle around with you! Caves sound fun. Just be warned, I have been known to have balance issues LOL Might get a tad wet.  But hey, I'll make lunch after while you collect poo paper.

Thursday, September 14th
We’ve sailed across the Indian Ocean toward Africa, but we are being pursued by pirates! Fortunately, we were able to make it to Port Louis, Mauritius, an Indian Ocean island nation known for its beaches, lagoons and reefs. The mountainous interior has rainforests, waterfalls, hiking trails and wildlife like the flying fox. Port Louis was founded in 1638, with the harbor itself boasting a strategic location for ships sailing from Europe to Asia during the colonization era for both the French and British.

While we’re here, we’ll visit The seven Colored Earths are a geological formation found in south-western Mauritius. It is a relatively small area of sand dunes comprising sand of seven distinct colors (approximately red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple and yellow). The main feature of the place is that since these differently colored sands spontaneously settle in different layers, dunes acquire a surrealistic, striped coloring. Since the earth was first exposed, rains have carved beautiful patterns into the hillside, creating an effect of earthen meringue.

Start a new layout starting with a gradient for the background.

I'm with you Jane!   Do you think we'll get in trouble or should we go undercover?  :ninja:  @Jane in N.Z

This is such a beautiful place, I'm learning a lot on this cruise, thanks Captain April! :mer2:  @April Showers

I'm off to breakfast at poolside, anyone want to join me before we start our day?   Maybe we can decide together what to do.

I'm in!!! I say we go undercover. For some reason I think we probably wouldn't be allowed if we ask. 🤣

I'll join you for breakfast, well coffee. I dont do food first thing. Cabana boy! We need coffee!!!! ️ Lots and lots of coffee!!! That darn horse kept me up last night. Have you heard a horse snore???

@Jane in N.Z @MariJ @Tracy I'm with you. Sliding down the dunes sounds like fun. And... um... definitely undercover. :ninja:

I"ll be joining you gals for a slide down the dunes! I think we should just lay down and barrel roll down!  I once heard the phrase "it's better to do and apologize than to ask and be told no."  Maybe that applies to the roll down the dunes?  I'll be down at the pool in a minute!

Mauritius has some beautiful waterfalls, and we’re going to visit a few today. There are more
waterfalls on Mauritius than I can include in photos. Chamarel waterfall is a massive waterfall that plunges from a height of nearly 100 meters. It’s sometimes split into two or three depending on the time of the year.  There are several waterfalls behind the Eureka House mansion. Waterfall #2 is the most impressive.

Add some type of vertical border or element to your page.

I enjoy seeing waterfalls so this will be a special event to see these.

Well while you were all sliding down the dunes I went around back and slide down them. I heard allot of commotion so looked over I saw someone being taken away but couldn't tell who it was. I saw @Jane in N.Z @Tracy and @MariJ scurry away. I think it looked like @mimes1 did anyone else see who it was? 🕵️‍♂️

I'm getting my camera and tripod to go take photos of the waterfalls anyone else want to go??? We can stay out of trouble. After the photo shoot I will go see who it was and post bail.👮‍♂️

@Boatlady That's really funny! With my bad shoulder it was me!! Guess that should've been thought of before the whirlwind roll!! (But it was ALOT of fun!) I am ready for some quiet activities so a waterfall shoot sounds really nice. I'll even bring my camera~!
