journaling:

The week began in a fog of pain and meds and my eye was swollen, black blue and red, and generally

ugly. The pain pills that helped on Friday and Saturday now only left me nauseous, in a daze, and unable to

sleep. Dusty was still my best friend and came in to check on me and give me some love every so often.

He’s such a good helper, he even opened one of my eye drops for me. Fortunately he only chewed up the

box, not the actual container.

We had fun watching Katy Perry perform at the Super Bowl Sunday evening, but it was a real bust this year

without our usual family get together. By Tuesday I was finally starting to feel better and was bored enough to

actually do some scrapping!

On Wednesday it warmed up to 32F and Dusty was begging for some Frisbee time. I went out for a while, but

the cold was a bit much for my eye. On Thursday I went to Publix supermarket with Dave and even though it was only

for a half an hour it felt sooo good to get out of the house.

Friday morning was the big follow up visit with the surgeon. He says the eye is healing beautifully and he doesn’t need

to see me for a month! He took away two of my three eye drops, and has me tapering off the dosage over the next

three weeks. He added a different drop to keep down the pressure inside my eye, but said I can now sleep on either

my right or left side, and no “face down” time.

Saturday we all got haircuts and mine is finally super short and much easier to take care of. We drove to the park and

I found a goose to photograph and harass our daughter with. (She’s been afraid of them since she was little. Yes,

we’re evil!). And for dinner we went to O’Charley’s and had a great meal. Life is slowly getting back to normal.

Looks like your BFF/loyal companion is as helpful as mine sometimes. But, they are always there for you. Love the photo of you & Dusty. Great journalling and I love your conversation tags. Hope you're feeling better.
