Here is page 2 of the canoe trip my DH and DS took. Not quite as satisfied with this one, but if I put it in the book as a 2-page spread with p.1 it'll be ok.

The ditch was very similar to the ditch that runs through our property. After we got about a mile w. of Johnson Rd., it was easier going. There were lots of carp in the shallow, muddy water. BIG ones that left a powerful V-wake when they swam. We tried to hit them w/our paddles--hit a few. By the time we got to Columbia City my shoulders and back were very sore. John didn't seem too tired but didn't paddle too hard. There is a cool, arched stone RR bridge near Columbia City right next to a car bridge. Neat pic from the river but did'nt have my camera ready. We camped on a high grassy bank under high tension lines about an hour past Columbia City. Ate freeze-dried teriyaki chicken & rice--ok, but not enough. Forgot the cards, so went to sleep at dark.
