Messy Room

It seems I'm using circles in almost all of my layouts lately! After getting my new ScrapSimple Club content today, I realized I've hardly been using them! What a waste! Well for this layout, I decided I'd use as many of my club items as I could. I used Cherise Oleson's Pen and Ink, Mandy Steward's Pierced Paper Templates, Durin Eberhart's Fabric Arts, Thao Cosgrove's Stitched Framery, Shalae Tippetts' Bent Up, and Amanda McGee' Doodle Pad.

Journaling reads: Ever since Katie could get out a toy on her own, her room has looked something like this. It hasn’t changed in 20 years. Sometimes she’ll clean it. but it never stays that way for very long. This was her room on July 7, 2001

It seems like it's missing something. Any ideas? CC welcome.

Other elements:

EHI_Kimono_12x12_Green (recolored)

EHI_Bookworm_12x12_Antique-Plain

BMU_Yesteryear_EMB_Frame-Sq

Painted Wood action from Atomic Cupcake

I think the curved text template is from Jessica Sprague

I don't think it's missing a thing! This is wonderful ... reminds me I have a picture of my dd's room from when she was about 8 years old and it looks pretty much like your dd's room!

The only thin I'd suggest would be to try using a colour from the photos. Her wall colour is fabulous - you could change the purple you've used to match it. Maybe brighten up the green a bit too. It just seems your colours are a tad soft.

Love it!

What a great LO. All those wonderful colors and the white space set it off perfectly. Your type path is perfect and adds nicely to the messy theme.

Oh my!!! Don't change a thing on here! It's so perfect! In fact, I'd submit this gem to the scrapping magazines! You did great with it!

I agree--nothing's missing! My first thought is how did you make photos of a messy room look so "clean"?? Whenever I take photos of rooms, even cleaned ones, they somehow always look messier in photos. ;) I love how you put everything in the center, used circles, strings for embellishments, and white space.

Ahh, that Katie- Wonder if she knows my DD, their rooms look just alike :D

Elisha, you did a really good job at using the elements from the kit! I want to use the free floating string and I can't make

it work like you've done here! Congratulations on a very well done LO and wonderful "a day in the life" LO :D

:) Clever use of the ScrapSimple products! The colors you chose as well as the circular composition and use of the white space make this layout pop! Wonderful job on this! :)

I love it. Kandace's room was always messy. I never took pictures of it that way but did do some pages after I cleaned it up. This is really a nice page I like the kit, the circular text, etc. Scrapgirls just seems to have everything we need to make our pages.

LOL! This is fantastic Elisha! Naomi's room used to look like this when she lived with me too! I think some adults still have that messy room sometimes as well (me!). I love how you used those elements!

Very cute! It is fun to reflect on things that might have caused tension in the past, but that eventually will been seen as not as important as once thought! Good job!

Love the LO, reminds me of my girls. :) One suggestion would be to change the date on the layout from 2001 if you are submitting. When DSM was at the convention, they suggested using a current date on the one you submit and if you want, leave the real date on your own copy. HTH
