JudySarch
I just purchased the basic shadows and the instructions refer to finding the Library but in the new OSX (Lion) I don't see a library anymore. Lion made lots of changes so maybe this is not ready??? Thanks in advance. I'm a real newbie.
PBarnes
I'm sorry Judy, I don't have a MAC but I'll bump this up in hopes a MAC person sees it soon.
JudySarch
I'm sorry Judy, I don't have a MAC but I'll bump this up in hopes a MAC person sees it soon. Thanks so much for your help. Late last night I found where to put the asl files in with the other styles. Now I just need to figure out the Action files which end with atn. Clearly the Lion operating systems has changed the game.
JudySarch
I learned what to do. The problem is that with Lion you don't see your harddrive on the side bar. You can make the hard drive show up on the side bar by using preferences in Finder and then follow the instructions provided by Scrapgirls. So now that I have loaded this all up I'm not sure what to do. I have a bunch of drop shadows that I think already came with PSE9. Are the Basic Shadows marked by name? And now that I have learned how to use drop shadows did I need to buy the Basic Shadows? For $2.99 I don't care if I don't need it I just want to stop wasting time figuring it out if I don't need it. Thanks.
Florida granny
Glad you figured out what to do. I use a PC, so I'm not sure if PSE has exactly the same menus for a MAC, but to see the names of all the styles and effects, look for a little box and down arrow next to "content" -- on my version of PSE9 it's next to "effects" just above the effects palette. One of the menu options there is to "show names". I hope this info helps! I know what you mean about possibly wasting money, especially since several shadows are already part of PSE9. I also bought the Basics Shadows set and use it a lot because it seems more versatile. As you say, it's not a lot of money and it does seem to work easily and well.
