I was really retarded & wore my cute shoes to downtown San Antonio. What can I say, my brain was on vacation!

The journaling:

I have a confession. I LOVE shoes... but they don’t love me. Every Sunday I wear my cute shoes to church... and every Sunday Bryan fusses at me because I end up with blisters. I don’t care - every woman knows if they are cute, they aren’t comfortable, that’s just the way it is, even my NB trainers have betrayed me! So on this particular day some friends of mine were in town for the Rock N Roll Marathon & I planned to meet them for a carb-fest at the Rainforest Cafe. Bryan warned me... & I knew we’d be on the riverwalk, but I planned to park nearby, walk to the restaurant, & walk back to the van - no problemo! WRONG! I knew better, I really did, but fashion got the best of me & I went against my better judgement. Needless to say there was no parking nearby, I got lost, and the wait was 1 1/2 hrs so we opted for the food court. The food court was nowhere near the Rainforest so it seemed like we walked forever to get there. I was so slow... my weakness problems were acting up and I think I must have apologized to our group a hundred times. The kids did great, we had a nice visit, but when it was time to go I realized I was completely turned around & had no idea where I parked! So we wandered the streets of San Antonio yet again until we found the garage and I wished Doris & Gayle luck in the race & headed home. TFL!

What a great idea to scrap! That was quite a hike and those shoes definitely aren't made for walking; but aren't they beautiful?

I like the map and the closet full of shoes! I hope you heal quickly!

Great shoes, sorry bout those blisters! This is a fantastic layout that shows us the real YOU. Love the addition of the map, the close up of those cute shoes, and your face!

This is a great thing to scrapbook. You can take pictures of the sights and the family and friends, but these shoes were the defining element of the day. We've all done these things- worn uncomfortable shoes, carried a bag that was too heavy, dressed too warm or not warmly enough. The map is a great touch and your supporting photos are great!

What a great subject to scrap and your journalling is just the best. Your grandchildren are so gonna smile when they read this!!!! I don't think that I could walk through the house in those shoes let alone the distance your walked Jenna. No wonder you had blisters!!

Jenna, you and I are soul sisters...LOVE shoes...I have a closet full of them. All colors, all shapes and all styles. And wouldn't you know it, I wear the same pair day in and day out...but I have all those others that I love, love, love! This is such a creative layout, love the shoe photos and the journaling is priceless. Don't worry about the blisters and abrasions, they heal!

Jenna this is awesome and what a memory and your poor feet must have hurt so much I hope they are healing well :) I am convinced now looking at this that I will stick to my 'sensible' footwear when walking :)

Love those shoes, but I don't envy you all of that walking in them. I got lost several times in downtown San Antonio on the Riverwalk so believe you when you say no parking, got lost, walked a million miles!! Once you get the hang of it though, you won't get lost, but there's still plenty of walking to be done in that area!

LOVE your LO I really like how you've incorporated everything into it!!

Fabulous LO- I love the map you included, and the photo of yourself-we so seldom include those! And those are fabulous shoes. We do pay a high price to look good sometimes! This is a great adventure to scrap, and you did a wonderful job!

LOVE the layout--and the shoes! I'm ROFL right now because I can be the same way when it comes to cute shoes. I really like how you included a map showing all of the walking you did in those gorgeous shoes and you even included photos of the blisters!
