Mom is still in rehab, but doing very well. We had to laugh at the sign over the nurses’ station! “If you’re happy and you know it, thank your meds!” At home we’re all set for Halloween except for buying treats to hand out. I found a ‘Pooky ’Pider at the dollar store and it fits right over my Fall wreath. Dave’s sister sent beautiful sunflowers to mom.
I love our neighborhood. It’s so much fun to live where everyone really gets into all the holidays! Jessica and Mike host a ‘Haunted Garage” every year, and this year they have added a “Haunted Hearse” to their front lawn! Mike’s brother built it for them.
One day when we went to visit mom, there were two deer grazing behind the building. There are lots of wooded areas and we understand there are even more that we didn’t see.
The fall colors are really starting to show! Last year we had an early freeze and all the leaves dropped before they could change color. I have a ton of photos in my phone of all kinds and colors of trees.
Coming home from shopping one morning I passed a field of goats. There was no one behind me, so I pulled over to get a better look. I’m so enjoying living in Tennessee!
Saturday our church hosted a “Trunk or Treat.” We used to do this back in Florida, too, but it was never 43 degrees! Oh holy cow it was COLD! We moved all of the games inside our Fellowship Hall, but the die-hard trunk decorators were stuck outside. Poor Pikachu (Lauren Johnson) looked like she was freezing! I went outside long enough to take some photos, but I didn’t last very long.
I was proud of myself, though. I stuck to my diet and didn’t even have one piece of candy or a hot dog! But I wanted to.
