19th November Today we have arrived in Sukhothai, Thailand. This ancient city was the capital of the first Kingdom of Siam in the 13th and 14th centuries. There are numerous temples and monasteries to explore today. Start a new Layout with building as your inspiration.

18th November For those who are interested we have arranged for you to take a trip to Base Camp of Mount Everest, and because science doesn't work on this trip, you don't have to walk there. Once we have returned post your peace/calm layout in the Hodge Podge Gallery when you have finished it.

17th November Over night we have headed north into Nepal. We are off to see the Shanti Stupa in Polhara. This peace temple is dedicated to global friendship. It sits on a hill top overlooking the Annapurna Mountain range, which is reflected in Lake Phewa Tal below. Should be a nice peaceful day for a change (don't spoil it). Start a new layout with peace/calm as your inspiration.

16th November As we head off to our new destination we have a troupe of Bollywood dancers for you all to enjoy in the bar carriage. There's been a lot of dancing lately, who'd of thought this trip would also help keep you fit. ?️‍♀️?️‍♂️ In honour of the beautiful colours of their clothes, make sure your layout has something brightly coloured on it. It's up to you to decide what "brightly coloured" means. Post your layout in the Hodge Podge Gallery when you are finished.

15th November We have thankfully left all that sand behind (although we will probably still be finding some for days yet). We have travelled over night to Uttarakhand, India and the Valley of Flowers National Park. This area is known for it's unique alpine flowers, which are only found in the National park. It is also home to many rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, musk deer, brown bear, red fox and blue sheep. You have a choice for today's layout pick one of the following inspirations; flowers animals

13th November As we head off to our next destination make sure you make time to go into the bar carriage tonight, we have some belly dancers to entertain us all. Add another geometrical shape to your layout, There should be at least four now. Remember they don't have to all different, they could be all circles for example. 12th November This morning we have arrived in Cairo, Egypt, where we will be visiting the Egyptian Museum and, of course, the pyramids. Start a new layout with at least three geometrical shapes.

11th November Before we leave Morocco we are going to attend a bar for a night of traditional Moroccan food, drink and dancing. Okay hands up, who can dance? (not me) Add something sparkly to your sand layout. Post your layout in the Hodge Podge Gallery when you are finished.

10th November After travelling overnight, we have arrived in Merzouga, Morocco. Today we are going to head out on a camel safari into the Sahara desert. Don't forget your water! (let's hope Marilyn hasn't been swimming in it) Start a new layout with sand as your inspiration.

9th November Today we have arrived in Florence, Italy. There is a really difficult choice for you today. Do you want to see the Boboli Gardens? What about the Palatina Gallery? Maybe the Modern Art Gallery is more your thing. There are ten different museums you can visit, the porter can arrange any tickets you require. Start a new layout with art as your inspiration. Hi Guys! I'm back! We had an amazing weekend in London. I am a tad concerned about all this talk of finding a pool, I do hope no one has been swimming (or adding bubbles) to our drinking water!!!!!!

I am handing over to Laura for the next few days. My other half is taking me to London for a long weekend for our 25th wedding anniversary. See you all on Tuesday, do try and behave!

4th November We have arrived in Portsmouth, England, where we will visit HMS Victory and The Mary Rose. The HMS Victory was launched in 1765 and became the flagship of the Royal Navy under Vice-Admiral Nelson in 1805. She is best known for defeating the French and Spanish at the Battle of Trafalgar. She was placed into dry dock in 1922. The Mary Rose was a ship in Henry VIII's navy, she was launched in 1511. Although she fought in two wars against France she she best known for her sinking and subsequent salvage operation. For reasons unknown the Mary Rose capsized just a mile from the Portsmouth coast in 1545. She was finally found in 1971 after a four year search, however it wasn't until 1982 that they managed to raise her. Start a new layout the boat/ship as your inspiration.

3rd November Our driver says we are all loaded and ready to set off to our first destination. Create a layout with travel as your inspiration. Post your layout in the Hodge Podge Gallery when you are finished.

2nd November Before we set off for our first destination we have planned a masquerade party in the bar and restaurant carriages. Can I trust you all to behave? (unlikely) Fortunately we are still in the station so no one should get hurt if they fall (or are pushed) out of the train. Tell us, in this thread, what your favourite drink and party food is.

1st November Time to check in. Head over to the ticket office and sign in. You will be assigned a cabin of your choice. Remember we are not aboard a ship this year, so you can't have a pool side cabin, sorry. Create a layout featuring your name somewhere. It doesn't have to be in the title, it could just be in the journalling or a label for a photo.

Welcome to the Scrap Girls World Tour ? ? ? ? ? 2021 Welcome to this year's World Tour. Join us as we travel the world aboard the Scrap Girls Express, a magical steam train that can travel anywhere. Complete layouts to gain stamps in the passport. Each stamp is worth one entry in the prize draw. At the end of the tour, we will do a random draw, and you could win one of three $5 Gift Certificates to use in the Scrap Girls Shop. Each time we stop at a new location we will give you some inspiration for you to create a layout. The inspiration will usually be in bold italics. You may also be given a task to complete. Check each day's itinerary to see what you need to do. You are free to interpret each location’s inspiration in any way you wish. There are no daily time limits, even if the post says today, tomorrow or any date. Do not post your finished layout until we tell you to, just in case something un-expected happens. That should probably be "something un-expected WILL happen". You do not have to complete a layout for every location, unless you wish to. You can combine inspirations; however, you can only receive one stamp in the passport for each layout. You have until 11:59pm (ET) on Tuesday 30th November 2021 to post your layouts. Any layouts or tasks posted after this time will not earn a stamp on the passport. Please be aware the passport will not be updated everyday, I aim to update it at least once a week. This week is the 42nd week of the year (how is that possible?) There are just 10 weeks left in 2021!!! So for our challenge this week I thought we should have a number challenge. Use the numbers 4 and 2 somewhere on your layout. You could use four papers and a two-word title. What about two photos and four lines of journalling. You could also use a photo showing four people and another with just two. Maybe you know someone who has turned 42. When you are finished post your layout in the Weekend Wildcard Challenge Gallery. Don't forget to let us know how you used the numbers.

It always makes me chuckle when I see some of the weird and wonderful "holidays" people have created for otherwise ordinary days. According to the holiday calendar I follow, today is "I love yarn" day. So let's create layouts with some yarn in them. Yarn (definition): spun thread used for knitting, weaving, or sewing. A long or rambling story, especially one that is implausible. You could use a yarn-based embellishment, maybe you have some paper with stitching on it. Don't forget photos, are you a knitter, maybe you have a photo of someone in a crazy jumper. Don't forget about those rambling stories. When you are finished post your layouts in the Weekend wildcard challenge gallery.
