My home town is Mobile, Alabama. (BTW, it's pronounced Moe-beal, with emphasis on the second syllable, not like the mobile you hang from the ceiling!) Mobile is steeped in history, and our downtown area is filled with beautiful old antebellum homes, many of which open their doors for historical tours in the spring along the “Azalea Trail.” My husband and I attended a wedding reception a few years ago at the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion, where I took the photos of the statue and the home. The bushes behind the statue are camellia bushes, but it was May and the camellias were not in bloom (they bloom in the late fall and winter). The photo of the perfect camellia bloom above was taken last winter – I clipped it from one of my sister's bushes. The camellia is the Alabama State Flower. Journaling reads: This lovely statue of a youthful Southern belle captures my imagination. “Camille” stands in the Camellia Garden at the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion in Mobile, Alabama. Following a nature series on TV I looked the fall up. I couldn't resist scrapping this, this is incredible. The sunset shining on the cascading water creating this cascading fire effect WOW! Supplies in exif properties. -
DH took this photo when he rode back up the mountain to take some scenic photos while I stopped at the bottom and he saw this staring straight back at him. We were heading for Avila in Spain enjoying the spectacular views, so glad I wrote my daily journal. Supplies in exif properties -
