Homework: Cutouts & DieCuts - "Myles and the Waves"

I had a lot of fun practicing the techniques we learned last week in the Brush Class on this layout. And, of course I had so much fun I had to go buy more brushes, since there was a sale! :D

First I used blending on the blue swirl - "KSC Brush Set Breathe Swirls". (I finally figured out what I was doing wrong - yay!). I put the brush on its own layer and used the "pin light" mode at 70%.

Then, I used the "LCO Photo Edges 2" brush set to erase around the edges of my photo. I selected the area with the selection brush, then deleted while rotating the image. (Technique 4)

Next I used "STI Brush Class Brushes" to create cut-outs from the papers and added shadows (the flower "suns") (Technique 2)

Lastly, I used "MRE Brush Set: Drop Hearts" to make a die-cut -- it's tiny and doesn't quite fit with the layout, but I wanted to try it. (Technique 3)

Thanks Anna - I'm learning a lot in this class! :)

For this layout I used:

BMU Coastal Collection Biggie

STI Brush Class Brushes

LCO Photo Edges 2 Brush Set

MRE Brush Set: Drop Hearts

KSC Brush Set: Breathe Swirls

Marilyn, this is wonderful. Well done on doing all the techniques on one layout. Love the colors and the photo but I especially like the cutout flowers. They look great.
