Monday 6-6-11 Natural Texture Background Challenge

 Share

After going around the house this morning snapping away at different textures, I couldn't narrow it down to only ONE! So... here's a layout about some of the textures around my house. The background is the bark of one of the palm trees. I used 2 Scrap Simple papers: Antiquities by Durin Eberhart, blended with pin light at 58% opacity and Paper Edgers by Brandy Murry. Other materials are listed in the exif. I had a lot of fun with this layout. TFL

Diane - this turned out so well! I love all the textures in this lo - and in particular your bg paper with all of the blending and filters you used on this. Very effective and very creative!! Love how you tagged the other textures in a sample card. Now you'll have to play with those as well to see what other bg's you can make. Thanks for joining in on this challenge!!

Love it! I think photographing textures is addictive - once you start, you see them everywhere lol - great idea to put them in the layout - plus you still get the fun of playing with them

Wonderfully creative page! I love your background - so beautiful how you blended the palm tree bark, it's so interesting.

I also really like your other photos - so cool when you really zoom in and look at ordinary object... Really great layout!

Oh, this is clever! Love your bg. It's just pretty! Clever to use other textures as photos in your LO! Nice title work, too.

I'm with Marilyn on this. I love the photo and the blending of the background. In fact, I'm on my way up the road to go take a photo of the palm tree in my DS's backyard. :disappearing-smilie:

Great layout and thanks for the explanation.

Lovely layout! I'm always taking photos of tree bark when I'm in tropical locations because the texture is just so wonderful, but now I see that it will make a great background. I'll have to dig out some of those photos and give it a try.
