The BEAR necessities

This started out to be week 3 of the September Slow Scrap, but I hit a wall at the requirement for three or more papers. I used Brandy's Grunge Block template, versions 6 & 7 for the mask behind the background photo, and the positioning and frames for the the other pictures. Both were rotated and resized. I slid the Big Sky paper under the mask at the top, to provide some sky, and I slid the River paper under the bottom to extend the water in the photo. Details are in the EXIF file.

We were on a small boat cruise in Alaska, and had frequent opportunities to ride in zodiacs, getting closer to nature These photos were taken by my DH, except for the lower left - that's him, in the striped shirt & backward cap, focusing on a bear in the distance. We eventually - SLOWLY - got even closer, easing up to the log spanning the creek in the lower left picture. The grizzly knew we were there, stopping occasionally to look us over, but he didn't seem to care much. He was busy catching salmon. They were so abundant that he could be picky; he'd bite off the head, devour the brain and fatty portion, then let the rest drop, and start over again. I think we sat watching him splash and gorge for at least half an hour, finally leaving so another zodiac full of people and cameras could have a turn. What an adventure!

Yikes! I can't imagine being so close to wild grizzlies. My husband would love this, though! I'm afraid he's going to drag me up there one day. I guess you were pretty safe in those Zodiacs. Love the big, scenic photo as background with the slight pattern. Great arrangement of the other photos. An altogether impressive page!
