    Wow, Palm Beach, Australia!  Wouldn't Florida be closer?   😂  I wish I could say our Game Board had a trip to Australia on it as a prize... but you did win a Collection Biggie of your choice.  @Amy D Congratulations!  Hold onto it for now, I have a feeling that one might be a favorite. When are you leaving on your trip?  Wondering when you might not be available to choose again, if your gift gets stolen at some point.

    Kelly @ladyscrapalot is next!  Kelly, you may either pick a new gift that is hiding under one of the cute embellishments on the game board below, OR you may choose to steal another players' gift that has already been opened.  What would you like to do?

    Congratulations Diane @Florida granny, you won a $5 gift card to the Scrap Girls Boutique.  This might be temporary, so hold tight!

    Here is the game board.  I adjusted the list, and now Diane is first!  @Florida grannySince you are the first person to choose a gift, you will also get a chance at the very end of the game to decide whether you want to keep whatever gift you have by then, or steal a different gift from among the gifts that are still in play.  

    Choose one of the photo squares in the graphic below and post your choice.  I will then unveil your gift!

    I think I'll be hearing Jeopardy theme music every time we wait for someone to pop in and take their turn!

    Welcome to the White Elephant Gift Exchange!  In the next post, I will list all participants in order according to the number each person was randomly assigned.  This will be the order in which you will choose your gifts.  As we go along, keep an eye on this thread so you know when it's your turn.  To help you, I will also tag you when it is your turn, and I'll tag you if someone has stolen your gift from you - which means you'll get another turn! (If you're tagged in a post, you'll get a notification, which you can see by clicking the world icon at the top right of the page, near where your profile name shows up).

    HOW THE GAME WORKS:  When it's your turn to pick a gift, you may either steal a gift that has already been "opened" by someone else, or you may choose a new unopened gift.  If your gift is stolen from you at some point during the game, then you will get another turn, to either steal another gift from someone else, or choose a new gift.  

    RULES:  

    1.  You may not steal the gift back that was just stolen from you.  

    2.  Each gift can only be stolen twice.   

    3. The third person who "owns" a particular gift gets to keep it, and that gift will no longer be in play.  

    4.  The first person to choose a gift (first to take a turn) will get a chance at the end of the game to decide whether to keep the gift she has at that time, or steal a different gift from those that are still available.  Only fair!

    5.  We have a lot of participants, and so to keep the game moving along, if someone doesn't drop in within a 12 -hour period (give or take) to take their turn, we'll move on to the next person.  The person who missed their turn will be able to make it up at the end.  :) 

    I will be tracking who has what gifts and how many times a gift has changed hands; you will also be able to see that info on the game board.  I'll be updating the game board and posting it in this thread each time a gift changes hands.  This game will continue until the last person has had a turn and all gifts have settled with their new owners.  We have all month, right?  🤶  Try to check in as often as you can, though, to make sure it's not YOUR turn!

    Yay, quite a few people are signed up already!  PSA - I already messed the game up a little by posting the sign-ups late, so Angie has graciously allowed one more day for sign-ups... AND team members can also play and WIN!  If you've ever played an in-person White Elephant gift exchange, the game can get crazy, with presents flying everywhere.  The more people that play, the more fun the game is!  

    Sign-ups will continue on Tuesday, let's say until 6:00 p.m. ET.  I think that will give Angie time to finalize the game board so that we can start the game off Wednesday!  @angleigh

    We have closed the sign-ups for the White Elephant gift exchange.  We've got 20 people signed up, which means this should be a blast!  😀  See below for the list of those who are signed up. I will start a new thread soon, and will give each of you your number.  Because I am on the West Coast of the U.S. (three hours behind Eastern time), I will aim to start the game play around midnight ET tonight (that is 9:00 p.m. for me, so I will start the game off before I go to bed tonight). 

    I'll be posting often as we go along; I'm hoping to ensure that everyone knows exactly what should happen next, ie who's turn it is and what prizes are still available to be stolen.  As Angie said in a post below, be patient with us as we try out this game this year... I think it will be tons of fun, with lots of prizes to be had, but I'm sure there will be some bugs to work out.  

    HOW THE GAME WORKS:  You'll be choosing a gift from our game board, in order according to your number (we'll announce when it comes time for each number to choose a gift).  When it's your turn to pick a gift, you may either steal someone else's gift, or choose a new one.  If your gift is stolen from you at some point during the game, then you will be able to either steal another or choose a new gift.  You may not steal the gift back that was just stolen from you.  Each gift can only be stolen twice; the third person who "owns" it gets to keep it!  We will be playing this game most of the week (not just Wednesday), so no worries if you can't be online constantly.  If the game directions are confusing, no worries there either.  We will let you know what happens next, step by step!

    Happy weekend!  For us in the States, we just had Thanksgiving on Thursday, and many of us had the last couple of days off work.  A nice little break.  For me, the long Thanksgiving weekend has always meant preparing the house for Christmas, starting to Christmas shop (thank goodness for online shopping these days), and trying to make sure our family calendar is set for the busy month of December.  My oldest kiddo's birthday is in December, too - I didn't plan that one out very well!  And, our wedding anniversary is December 3rd.  Yikes.  

    For our weekend challenge, I'd like you to scrap about something during this past week.  It can be anything - the Thanksgiving holiday, family getting together, going out to lunch with a friend, taking a nice walk one day... anything as long as it's from this past week.  Once your layout is complete, upload it to the Weekend Wildcard Challenge Gallery, then come back to this thread and leave a link to your layout so we can all admire it!

    Whew, the weekend has arrived!  It's been busy in our household, and it's nice to have a bit of a breather, as there is absolutely nothing scheduled on our calendar this weekend.  So let's get scrapping!

    Our theme for the challenge today is Arts and Crafts.  You have two general options for your layout:  Create a layout showing us something you've been working on lately (other than scrapping - although if it's a hybrid project or involves printing out your layouts, that's great too!), or about a craft fair or event you've been to or participated in.   Or, create a layout about someone else being artsy and craftsy, someone like a child, grandchild, spouse, friend.  We are hurtling toward the holiday season - it's definitely arts and crafts time!

    When your layout is complete, upload it to the Weekend Wildcard Challenge Gallery, then come back to this thread and leave a link to your layout so we can all admire it.  If you're participating in the November Challenge Chase, be sure to leave a link there, too.  Happy scrapping!

    Thursday Challenge: Mess Versus Masterpiece

    Last task!

    To complete our mess… I mean, masterpiece… let’s add glitter!  Everything’s better with glitter, right?  Search for either glitter or sparkles in your search tool (however you search for things on your computer), and starting from the bottom of the list, count up to the 23rd shiny object (count up from the bottom).

    When your layout is done, post that beautiful mess in the Anniversary Gallery, then come back to this thread to leave a link to your layout.  Don't forget to update your post in the Anniversary Tracker, too!

    Woo hoo!  You guys made it!  I'll be back soon and post my own layout, but I have to figure out how to arrange that mess.
